      Due to the unique frequency characteristics, terahertz electromagnetic radiation can be potentially and widely used in biomedicine, security imaging, THz radar, ultra-high-speed communication and et al. . However, materials with good electromagnetic response characteristics in the terahertz range are very limited, which restricts the development of THz functional devices such as THz switch, filter, modulator, polarizer. We construct a chiral metamaterial modulator by utilizing textile technology. The chiral metamaterial has a unique electromagnetic response to different circularly polarized incidence. With moderate incident electromagnetic wave excitation, its circular dichroism shows obvious intensity modulation, showing the strong nonlinear optical rotation characteristics provide the possibility for the development of active terahertz optical devices such as all-optical switches and THz modulator.

      主講人簡介:

        汪勝祥,工學博士,武漢紡織大學電子與電氣工程學院教授,湖北省楚天學者計劃海外高層次引進人才,碩士生導師。2007年畢業于武漢大學物理科學與技術學院材料物理與化學專業,獲工學博士。20076月至20079月,在香港理工大學應用物理系擔任助理研究員。200710月至20113月,在法國國家科學院(CNRS電子、微電子及納米技術研究所(IEMN,CNRS 8520)從事博士后研究工作。20162月至20171月,美國佐治亞理工學院電氣與計算機工程學院任訪問學者。主持或參與國家、省級項目多項,企業橫向合作項目多項。已在Nat. Commun.、 ACS Appl. Mater. & Inter.、Sci. Rep.、Opt. Exp.、 Appl. Phys. Lett.、APL Mat.、J. Appl. Phys.、IEEE UFFC等刊物上發表論文60余篇,H因子19 ,論文他引900余次(Google Scholar Citation)。
